Curriculum Design
I have been and continue to be interested in designing for learning.
Curriculum intern
Over the past 5 months, I have been interning with the Creative Learning Company, headed by Leo Burd at the MIT Media Lab. We have been designing short workshops to test creative learning curriculum and writing teacher guides for distribution in Brazilian schools.
I co-designed themed activities for the guidebooks, such as space exploration and dream homes.
teaching
I started working in education by teaching in a project-based school in Bangkok, Thailand.
Darunsikkhalai School for Innovative Learning showed me the potential of constructionist pedagogy. The school allowed me the freedom and flexibility to design and lead a student-centered, project-based curriculum for students grades 1 through 3.
I taught for 2 years and co-created 4 different throughlines as themes for each semester, with topics ranging from dinosaurs, global citizens and food art.
youth workshops
Through the School of Global Studies at Thammasat University in Thailand, I designed and hosted about 20 workshops, camps and competitions about social entrepreneurship for youth in Thailand.
Our student development sessions range from a one day workshop to multiple day camps and months long incubation. The purpose of hosting these student development sessions was to increase high school and university student awareness and understanding of social entrepreneurship.
